In a quiet village in rural Odisha, elderly fisherman Dinu and his friend Bhuta navigate the clash between tradition and modernity. While Bhuta builds a new eco-resort, Dinu's son Naba longs for a doll as a birthday gift, defying his father's traditional beliefs about gender. Dinu eventually gives him a mannequin, but a shocking incident involving his son and the gift causes Naba to leave home. As envious villagers try to shut down the resort, Dinu is left to face the consequences of his actions and the possibility of losing his son forever.
