In the remote village of Unish Mile, far from the bustling city of Kolkata, lives Patu, a ten-year-old grappling with a profound identity crisis. Raised by his maternal grandmother after his mother's death, Patu has never known his father, who reportedly resides in Kolkata. Despite his father being alive, Patu is plagued by the persistent and saddening feeling of being an orphan. Driven by this emotional void, he tirelessly seeks any information about his elusive father and the distant city he calls home from his neighbours.
