Dama Dum Mast Kalandar
In Cinemas
Kalandar, a 27-year-old Punjabi struggler in Australia, keeps losing jobs due to strange mishaps. After unknowingly helping a murderer, Tipsy, escape to India, his life spirals further. Disheartened, Kalandar returns to Punjab under a government scheme for NRIs and joins the Punjab Police. His first posting lands him in Batuana, a cancer-stricken village controlled by corrupt MLA Shamsher Kaur, who runs a deadly illegal liquor factory. Initially tempted by bribes, Kalandar sides with the MLA and helps silence villagers protesting against the factory. But when a young girl, Seerat, dies of cancer, guilt transforms him. Discovering that Tipsy works for the MLA and was involved in murdering a journalist who exposed the factory, Kalandar begins a risky double game. Using intelligence and courage, he manipulates events to expose the MLA's crimes, gathers evidence, and risks his job, family, and life. In a dramatic climax, the truth is broadcast live, leading to the MLA's arrest and the factory's shutdown. Six months later, Kalandar redeems himself by opening a cancer hospital in Seerat's name with the bribe money he once accepted.
