Some journeys are not about reaching the destination; they are about the journey itself. Some journeys are meant to be partial. ‘Shortcut/Longcut’ is one such journey, a trek to Sinhagad fort before the dawn. Sometimes a painting looks finished yet feels incomplete. The journey in the story allows the suppressed and unsaid emotions to flow like multiple color washes on canvas, mixing and flowering through every color, concluding in a beautiful painting. Brushes get cleansed, fog vanishes, the metal easel breaks, and fatal emotions mature. At the end, the dawn appears, and life is relieved like the golden bliss of sunrise.
